The Jerk Shack | Abuja

📍Basement, 16, Bangui Street, Wuse 2, Abuja

Wasn’t up for the usual burgers, steak, fries or pasta dishes. Wanted to have authentic cuisine of a different country for a change, so I ended up in Jerk Shack. Heard great things about their food so I was excited to go.

AMBIENCE:

Loved the ambience, mainly of the interior deco. Minimal and in accordance with the Jamaican theme. Oh, plus their playlist is everything!

SERVICE:

This might sound odd, but I liked the uniforms the waiters wore. It gave me beach vibes which I always associate with Jamaica. Food took a minute, but was worth the wait.

FOOD:

The food was great too. We wanted to try the beef patties, but unfortunately they ran out. Hopefully next time I’ll get to try em. Definitely worth every penny!

REVIEW OF FOOD:

Island Wings – N1500

(Wings tossed in a bold island honey x mustard sauce)

Yup, this made it to my top 5 best wings in Abuja so far. The coating tasted so beautiful, sweet n savoury!

Rotti – 600

Loved this soo much. The meat was tender and went off the bone easily, as should be.

Definitely haven’t been to Jamaica before neither have I tried the cuisine too, but this was spot on. The aroma itself was amazing.
