Cilantro 2.0| Abuja

📍Plot 3703 / 3704, Sarius Palmetum, Ibrahim Babangida Way, Maitama, Abuja

We’re back at Cilantro! This was the first restaurant I visited to kick off my #AbujaSeries back in August. My friend and I were there at night and I said I’d love to come back during the day to experience it differently. So yesterday we ended up here for late lunch.

AMBIENCE:

As a huge fan of nature, I loved how everywhere was earthy and vibrant. From the varying pavements, to the bamboo structures, the thatched roofs, and ofcourse the many palm trees! These details I definitely didn’t get to appreciate last time cause of the lack of daylight. I’d say the landscape architect (I assume they used one), did a good job.

SERVICE:

Waiters were prompt and nice. Menu is concise and easy to follow through, and I was glad it didn’t take long to prepare.

FOOD:

Cilantro’s food never disappoints me! Real authentic cuisine right here!

Butter Naan – N500

Butter Chicken – N2800

Tandoori Lamb Shoulder – N3600

Fried Noodles with Mixed Meat – N4000

Drinks:

Water – N300

Soft Drink – N400

Billing:

Number of People: 2

Total Bill: N13,500 apx. (Inc.VAT)

SALMAH’S SIDENOTE:

It was a nice evening as there weren’t much people at that time, so it was super quiet.

So daytime or night-time? Definitely night-time, mainly because of the different ambience the artificial lighting creates.

REVIEW OF FOOD:

Tandoori Lamb Shoulder – N3600

Urgh, this was beautiful! Tender, spicy and well seasoned. Although, I’ll recommend they give some sort of sauce to accompany it and it’ll be perfect!

Fried Noodles with Mixed Meat – N4000

Been wanting to try something off the Chinese side. My friend ordered this and I had some. Loved it, but because I have a slight obsession with soy sauce, I wish there was a little more of it in there.
