Blu Cabana | Abuja

📍Plot 1322, Shehu Yaradua Blvd, Mabushi, Abuja

Late lunch at BluCabana with one of my partners in food, Nabila Ahmed. I can’t believe I’ve slept on this place for years. Move over Transcorp, I’ve found a new favourite poolside space…

AMBIENCE:

It’s one of the most minimal and beautiful spaces I’ve seen in Abuja so far. The juxtaposition between the palm trees and the cyan colour of the swimming pool is what excites me the most. Makes me feel like I’m in some sort of tropical island. I feel you all know by now that I’m a sucker for exposed structures!

SERVICE:

We were welcomed in by a lady who greeted us and asked where we would like to sit. Another waiter took our order and food was delivered quickly, which we really appreciated cause we were dead hungry!

FOOD:

First, I just want to say good portion size! In general, the food was really good. Dish of the day for me was the pasta! It was to die for! Al dente, creamy and seasoned just right!

Mozzarella Sticks – N1950

Buffalo Wings – N1900

Mozzarella Burger – N3900

Fettuccini Alfredo – N3500

Drinks:

Virgin Pina Colada – N1400

Sweet Sunrise – N1400

Water – N750

Billing:

Number of People: 2

Total Bill: N15,500 (Inc. VAT)

SALMAH’S SIDENOTE:

I love that Blu Cabana is a lowkey spot. Perfect for hiding out with your crush/date, just chilling by the pool, eating good food. Or you can just call your friends up and have a night out. Shisha is available here too.

REVIEW OF FOOD

Mozzarella Sticks – N1950

These were really good. Can’t go wrong with cheese!

Buffalo Wings – N1900

Something tasted a bit off with the wings. Maybe it was the tabasco sauce.

Fettuccini Alfredo – N3500

This was the star dish! Very rare to find restaurants who actually cook their pastas al dente, kudos to Blucabana! Additionally, it was creamy and had chicken, mushrooms and what we think was maybe turkey ham pieces in it.

Mozzarella Burger – N3900

Cheese patty in a burger! Yes. Please. Love that it was crispy and still gooey while I bit into it. Thought I’d hate the pickles in it, but it added a nice zing to the entire bite! I’d recommend this for the burger and cheese lovers! The coleslaw on the other hand was a no, I thought it was too dry.
