📍Cottage One, HFIA Garden off Tafawa Balewa way, Garki, Abuja.
My favourite dessert place has expanded and I’m here for it! I was there yesterday with the amazing Jacqueline and boy was it an eventful evening.
Strobrie has always been my go to place when my sweet cravings come up. At first the shop was at Maitama, which was close to work, so I was there at least once a week. Now it’s been moved to a bigger space in Garki and I am ecstatic!
AMBIENCE:
So much GREEN and I love it! Look at all the beautiful plants and pots.
So the location itself was a bit tricky to find, but I eventually found my way. The shop is set deep into the garden at the end. I knew I was at the right place cause I recognised it from the instagram photos.
I was so happy entering inside cause of all the plants around. It felt like I had just entered a greenhouse. It was quiet and the place was cool from the aftermath of the rain.
Loved the couches and coffee tables and that the decorations were mostly locally crafted. There’s a fridge located towards the counter which displays all the available desserts.
SERVICE:
Service was okay. Was a bit disappointed that no one attended to me at first, and there was no physical menu to choose a dessert from. However, Joanne (the owner) was present and we had a wee chat, so she made me understand that they were still getting a hang of things so improvements were on the way. I was glad to hear that.
FOOD:
Great variety of dessert options and drinks too. Affordable prices that match the quality of food.

So heads up. If you do decide to go during this raining season, wear waterproof shoes, carry an umbrella and girls, don’t bother with makeup, just incase it does decide to rain. If you find it difficult to locate, just call and I’m sure they’ll be happy to help.
REVIEW OF FOOD:
Banana Cake w Toffee Sauce (back) – N1500
I usually order the milk chocolate cake or the red velvet, but yesterday I decided to try the Banana Cake and I was glad I did. Not as moist as I would’ve liked, but it tasted good.
Carrot Cake w Cream Cheese Frosting (front) – N1600
Lemonade – N1000
I needed a chilled drink and this was what I went for. Your usual Lemonade, liked that it wasn’t too sweet.
