Tasting: Pink Bear | Abuja

📍141, Ademola Adetokunbo Cresc, Wuse II (it’s inside the incomplete plaza opposite ‘HYLOOK’ or two plazas after 4guys’ )

The other day at the newly opened cafe, Pink Bear. Because it was a tasting, I got to try a variety of menu items that were quite exciting.

Passion fruit x Peach Bubble Tea

AMBIENCE:

So I’m not the biggest fan of the color pink. It’s after yellow on my list of least fav colors. I actually don’t think I’d last 5 minutes in an EL&N store. 😂

However, Pink Bears cafe managed to maintain the theme in a subtle way without screaming pink! The pink half of the space compliments the other half and balances it out. Almost like you get a calm side and an inspiration seeking side.

Seating is a bit tight, but it works for the space. I particularly like the seating by the coffee tree.

FOOD:

The menu provides a range of cafe type meals from wraps & sandwiches, wings, pasta, pancakes & waffles and salads. There’s also bubble tea!

Wraps

Spicy Beef Wrap – N3,200

Chicken Wrap – N3,700

spicy beef wrap

The spicy beef wrap was a winner for me. Right amount of heat, moist and well seasoned. However the chicken wrap was dry and lacked oomph! Some more sauce might take it there.

Sandwiches

Classic Egg Sandwich – N2,500

Chicken Sandwich – N3,500

Both sandwiches were decent. The toasted sliced bread wasn’t really the best choice as it was too thin. Either the bread is bigger and thicker or perhaps use a different type of bread like a baguette or bagel.

Why don’t we use bagels more often in this city? 🥲

Sliders

Beef Sliders – N3,600

Chicken Sliders – N3,600

Highlight of the day, particularly the chicken sliders. They were the perfect size and had everything a slider needed. Nonetheless, cheese could’ve been melted longer and bread could be softer.

Fries

Chili Fries – N1,100

Cheesy Fries – N1,100

chili fries

Generally the fries are good, the addition of chili on one was okay & took it to another level other than the regular fries. The cheesy fries didn’t cut it for me as the mozzarella tasted a bit off.

Bubble Tea

Strawberry x Coconut Bubble Tea w Yoghurt Boba – N2,400 (s)

Passion Fruit x Peach Bubble Tea w Passionfruit Boba N2,800 (L)

The actual bomb. That passion fruit x peach? Yesss. Went back for it yesterday but they didn’t have that so I settled for the strawberry x coconut with yoghurt boba. I expected a weird sensation in my mouth cause yoghurt and tea. But it was quite good.

SALMAH’S SIDE NOTE:

I like that they have vegan alternatives, so it’s a place for our vegan friends. Also, this visit was earlier this month, so things might’ve improved, so still visit confidently!
